Benchmarking

You will be asked to fill out a self-assessment survey regarding internationalization efforts at your community college. Only AIBI staff has access to the data. Each participant will receive a customized report, including both their scores and those from a sample of all community colleges.

Coaching

All AIBI participants will be matched to small groups and paired with an IB coach. Each coach will be available to participants for six months following the AIBI. This interaction will allow participants to build on the AIBI and engage in discussion/feedback on internationalization efforts.

Networking

The AIBI is limited to 25 participants with previous faculty development work in international business, extensive IB work experience, and IB program administrators. This workshop will allow you to meet, mingle, and network with others who have similar IB knowledge and experience; the small group atmosphere also ensures you will received personalized attention from the AIBI staff.

BRIC Focus

The BRIC countries will become the dominant economies by 2050. To help prepare you for the new reality of the powerful BRIC economies, the AIBI features an advanced session on SWOT Analysis of the BRIC countries. MSU faculty experts from each of the BRIC countries will be available for lunch and small group discussions with the participants following this session.

What Makes AIBI Unique?

For nearly two decades, MSU-CIBER has been a leader in faculty development programs on internationalization for community college faculty. The AIBI has grown out of MSU-CIBER's tremendously successful Biennial International Business Institute for Community College Faculty (IBI).

In order to maintain an emphasis on personal growth and professional development with significant and meaningful interaction between participants and facilitators, participation will be limited. Interested faculty may apply using the electronic application available on this website.

The AIBI, the first of its kind hosted by Michigan State University Center for International Business Education and Research (MSU-CIBER), was held June 2-5, 2008. Participants learned, dined and stayed at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center, Michigan State University's premier Hospitality/Business learning laboratory. This year's AIBI will be held June 6-9, 2010.

The $600 registration fee covers all materials, meals, and lodging.
