The MSU-CIBER's advisory board gathered for its annual meeting on Friday, September 14, 2007. General issues that were covered included the State of MSU-CIBER 2007, an update on globalEDGE, including information regarding the new DIBS project, and strategic planning to achieve the greatest impact and reach to our constituency groups (i.e., business executives, public policy makers, scholars, and students). The specific agenda included presentations by Tomas Hult, Director of MSU-CIBER (on the State of MSU-CIBER 2007); Ahmet Kirca, Assistant Professor of Marketing and Supply Chain Management (on a study comparing multinationality versus performance); and S. Tamer Cavusgil, Executive Director of MSU-CIBER (on multinationality and strategic initiatives). The board engaged in a lively discussion around the topic of multinationality, particularly as it correlates with performance as well as company size and other control variables.Robert Duncan, Dean of the Broad College of Business presented the keynote address at lunch, discussing the international impact of the college, particularly as a result of MSU-CIBER's efforts, and new initiatives undertaken by the college in Dubai. As in past years, the esteemed set of board members provided sound advice and insight, positive suggestions, and encouragement throughout the day. The next meeting of the advisory board will be Friday, September 19, 2008.
