Advice? Think ahead. Plan ahead. Know where you're going and expect that you're going to feel uncomfortable at first.
During my last part of my trip, a few friends and I decided to climb Cotopaxi, the worlds tallest volcano. It was one of the most physically and mentally exhausting things I've ever done, but also the single most fulfilling thing I've ever done.
I can't go a single day without thinking about how much I want to travel, explore, and learn more about other cultures.
I believe that going on study abroad is a once in a lifetime experience; I cannot possibly conceive that I will be able to compare and contrast business operations of two countries with as much access that was furnished to me. It will truly be a lasting experience on my education and my life.
This trip allowed me to learn about international business from a more hands-on approach. By visiting factories, plants, and businesses in Mexico, it allowed me to apply my classroom teachings to the real world.
My time in Thailand was the best of my life. I have seen and experienced things by the age of 27 that many people will not in their lifetime, and for that I am truly thankful.
Make it happen! It will be worth it.
Not only was it a wonderful trip with a group of really great people, but also it affirmed to me the choices I have made in my education, particularly choosing to go on study abroad, which was one of the best decisions I have ever made.
Studying in London was one of the most rewarding experiences I have ever had. I was able to gain an internship experience, travel Europe, and earn course credit all in one summer. My internship assignment with Harrods Ltd. had real practicality and I learned a great deal about international business and culture. I reflect on my study abroad experience everyday, and I plan to study abroad again next summer!
Study abroad has given me different global perspectives on art, politics, and social behavior. It's the best experience I will graduate with from MSU.
What I learned by living in another country is that one must fail numerous times before one gets it right. I learned the art of patience, and seeing situations from the other's perspective.
